Description

Window Clings are intended for interior glass surfaces and short-term or seasonal use, such as promotions, events, and hours updates. They are repositionable and removable without residue, making them ideal for messaging that changes throughout the year.

Tools Needed
  • Application fluid (Mix 1-2 drops of liquid dish soap per 16 oz of water in a spray bottle. Wet-Application is not required but recommended.)
  • Squeegee or a firm plastic card wrapped in a microfiber cloth
  • Masking or painter's tape
  • Measuring tape and a level
  • Clean, lint-free microfiber cloths
  • Razor blade or craft knife (for trimming if required)
Step 1: Prep the Window and Graphic
  1. Clean thoroughly: Wipe the window with a multi-surface cleaner to remove dirt, grease, or dust. Finish by wiping the glass down with plain water and a lint-free cloth to ensure no residue is left behind.
  2. Check the temperature: For the best static cling adhesion, install your graphic when the glass is between 50°F and 90°F (do not apply in direct, blazing sunlight, which dries the soap solution too quickly).
  3. Measure and mark: Measure the window to find your center points. Use a level to ensure the area is straight, and lightly mark the top placement of the cling with small pieces of painter's tape.
Step 2: Create a Hinge and Position
  1. Tape the hinge: Place the graphic face-up on a clean surface. Tape the entire top edge of the graphic to the glass using a long piece of masking tape. This creates a "hinge" so the graphic flips up and down perfectly straight.
  2. Expose the adhesive: Flip the graphic up so it's facing away from the glass. Carefully peel back the top few inches of the paper backing, exposing the clingy side of the vinyl.
Step 3: Apply the Graphic Wet
  1. Spray the glass: Lightly mist the exposed section of the glass and the back of the newly exposed cling with your soapy water mixture.
  2. Press and squeegee: Flip the top of the graphic back down onto the wet glass. Because of the soapy water, the graphic will "float" so you can perfectly line it up with your tape marks. Once aligned, use your squeegee with firm, overlapping strokes to push the water and air bubbles from the center outwards.
Step 4: Work Your Way Down
  1. Peel and press: Flip the graphic back up. Peel off another 6 to 12 inches of the backing paper.
  2. Wet and smooth: Spray the newly exposed section of glass and cling with the soapy water. Let the graphic fall onto the glass, and squeegee it down firmly from the center outwards.
  3. Repeat this process until the entire graphic is applied to the window.
 Step 5: Final Touches
  1. Final squeegee: Go over the entire graphic one last time with the squeegee to make absolutely sure all trapped water and air pockets are pushed out to the edges.
  2. Trim excess: If the cling slightly overlaps the window frame or seals, carefully trim it using a sharp razor blade or craft knife, as needed.
  3. Wipe down: Gently wipe the surface with a dry, soft cloth. Allow the cling to fully dry and cure to the glass for 1 to 2 days.
